We adopted a 9-month old pup, Jojo (who Nancy had been fostering) at the same time we got a 9-week old puppy (Bobbie). I know it was difficult for Nancy to let Jojo go as they had a close bond so it’s been important to me to keep in touch to let her know how Jojo is doing. I wish we had understood the importance of putting Bobbie into the imprint program. We are grateful to have adopted both dogs because Jojo was so beautifully trained and some of that “rubbed off” onto the younger one. For example, neither of them beg at the table and Bobbie only learned that from Jojo. We took the dogs to visit Nancy one day. Jojo felt right back at home. Bobbie is fearful of most dogs, but was starting to get a bit of confidence by being around all of the other well-behaved dogs who were also there. We will be leaving them with Nancy when we go on vacation because this Nervous-Nellie-First-Time-Puppy-Momma isn’t ready to trust anyone else with our dogs. I love watching the videos of her training the pups or of the dogs just having fun.

Nancy MacDonald is an incredible dog expert and a gifted trainer. Our darling Maggie spent two months with Nancy at her farm near Flesherton this fall. With plenty of room to run and so many dog friends to learn from, Maggie eventually came home with us so very well trained, incredibly well behaved and super cuddly and loving. We could not have asked for a better puppy and are grateful to Nancy for all the help she gave us in getting to this point.

We recently adopted a puppy, Callie, trained by Nancy. Not only is Callie house, crate and leash trained, but she also knows all of her basic commands and even has such great recall that we were able to confidently let her off leash on neighbourhood nature trails within days of meeting her.
Best of all though, Callie is incredibly calm and trusting of humans. She’s obviously had a very positive start to life. She’s also very eager and open to learning and our kids have easily taught her all kinds of ‘tricks’ like waving, giving a high 5, rolling over, etc.
Many people have commented that they cannot believe that Callie is just a puppy as she has such lovely manners and listens so well. She’s the perfect mix of silliness and attention. She really is a joy!
